Dr. Martin H. Devoto is an ophthalmologist and an oculoplastic surgeon, a specialist in surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts and orbits.
He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with an average of 9.12 points /10. He took ECFMG certification for foreign medical graduates and completed a clinical in 1995 and 1996 Fellowship in 1995 and 1996i n the University of Cincinnati, where he trained with Drs Dwight Kulwin, Robert Kersten and Mark Cepela.
Since 1995 a member of the Consultores Oftalmologicos. He has given over 300 lectures at national and international conferences and published over 20 scientific papers in international peer reviewed journals.
He was one of the authors of the study guides of the American Academy of Ophthalmology for U.S. residents. And he teaches courses in that institution since 2004.
In 2008 he received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, for his contributions as an author, instructor at courses and member of editorial boards of educational material.
In 2007 he received the International Ophthalmology Education Award, by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, given to recognize the international members of the institution that keep updating for life.
Dr. Devoto is a member of the Sociedad Argentina de Oftalmología, the Consejo Argentino de Oftalmología, the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Society of ocularists and the Orbital Society.
He teaches at the Universidad del Salvador and Universidad de Buenos. Since 1999, Orbis International , USA, Visiting Professor. International Teaching Program for developing countries. It takes place in a hospital plane, landing in needy areas.
He is a member of the Editorial Boards of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Archivos Españoles de Oftalmología.
